FOXTON PATRIOTIC SOCIETY.

The Society is calling a public meeting to be held at the Council Chamber on Monday evening next, at 8 o’clock, to consider the proposal to amalgamate the Society -with the National War Funds Council. The executive has already discussed the matter fully with Mr J. W. Xinniburgh, the secretary of the Fund, but considered that the public, who subscribe the funds, should be invited to decide whether the proposal, which is of vital importance, should be brought into effect. A large attendance is earnestly requested, and all are invited. The Patriotic Shop will be in charge of Mesdames McMurray and •teuton on Saturday next, and proceeds’will be devoted to the Wounded* Soldiers’ Fund.
