GRAND CONCERT.
BY THE “IRRESISTIBLES.”
IN AID OF LADIES’ GUILD ' FUNDS. Arrangements have been completed for the “Irrcsistibles,” a patritoic concert party from Palmerston North, to give a concert at the Town Hall on Monday next, in aid of the funds of the Ladies’ Patriotic Guild. The company has given a number of concerts throughout the Palmerston N. district, earning great praise for their tine performance, and - consist of Misses K. Freeth, Watson, O. Belt, Nielsen, Keeling, Kirk, Messrs Bowuitcr and Jackson, Sergt.-Major Bareham, Sergt.-Major Chapman, and Pte. J. D, Aitken, besides a fairly large chorus. The programme is published in our advertising columns, and speaks for itself. Prices arct 2s upstairs, and fid extra for reserved seats; Is downstairs, Patrons are guaranteed a tine performance. The stage will be decorated to represent a garden, and the dressiing is very effective. A newspaper critique thus describes the performance: “The stage w r as set with trees in full bloom, pink and red blossoms clustering everywhere, and making a pretty background for chorus grouping. In their smart frocks of rose pink, with pouch pockets, blacklined, providing a haven for nervous fingers, and large airy-fairy hats of black tulle, the girls looked very chic. There were several choruses, and with the lighting ‘business’ and effective grouping the tout ensemble was quite good, and added materially to their musical value.” Seats may be reserved at Mrs Teviotdale’s,
