TOWN CLERK’S REPORT.
The Town Clerk’s report as under was read and adopted at last night’s Council meeting:—
The road staff has been engaged on tho following works during’ the past month, viz., metalling Russell, Johnston, Park, Liddell and Harbour Streets and Rovensworth Place. Four hundred and eight yards of river gravel and threa hundred and eighty three tons of quarry metal has been spread during the present season, and the road staff will be engaged on this work until all the metal ordered is delivered}. Acting under: instructions from His Worship the Mayor, I procured the services of the Manawatu County Council’s road roller for a day for the purpose of rolling in the Belmont metal in Russell, Johnston and Wharf streets. "Where the metal had been blinded the result was very satisfactory. We intend to jigaih procure it for a day, when all the quarry metal has been delivered.” '
