BOROUGH FINANCES.

The Borough Treasurer reported at last night’s Council meeting as follows: —

The following amounts were received during the month of October and placed to credit as follows: — District fund account £879 10s sd, cemetery account £2 10s. The balances of the various funds at the Bank of New Zealand as at the 31st October, 1917, \v.eve as follows: — District fund account, debit, £lO3 5s 4d, cemetery account, credit, £lO 14s Bd, and the ledger balances at the same date as follows:—Cemetery £lO 14s Bd, contractor’s deposit £3O, hospital and charitable aid £OO 5s lOd, library £23,15s 9d, reserves £lO 19s 7d, sanitation £243 17s, town hall £75 Is 3d, Whirokino Bridge Loan £3O Is 9d, roads and streets loan £25 15s Id, Shannon bridge loan £lO 10s lOd, Council chamber and library £sl 2s Id, Whirokino bridge additions loan £27 4s Bd, roads and streets loan No, 2 £lO 8s 7d, Beach road loan £l2 4s 2d, all in credit, a total of* £O4O 7s 3d.
