PATRIOTIC SHOP.
The Patriotic Shop had a successful day on Saturday last, operations being under the charge of Mrs A, *J. 'Kellow and Miss Signal. Gifts are acknowledged from Mcsdames Ingle, Harvey, Jno. Robinson, Healey, Woodroofe, W. Signal, Griffin, Jas. Robinson, P. Daniel], .A .Ross, A. S. Easton, A. J. Kellow, John Ross, King, P. Robinson, A. R. Harper, Newth, Henrickson, C. Symons, Percy Easton, Purcell, Chrystall, Chas. Robinson, A. Harper, Gibbs, F. de Ridder, Rough, Parker, Misses J. A. Ross, Signal, Messrs Chung Wah, F. S. Easton, Bullard and Clahde Cunningham. The winning number for the work bag was 33, and was held by Mi's Freeman. A weight guessing competition was arranged for a lamb presented by Mr F. S. Easton, and the live weight proved to be 05i lbs. The nearest guess was 05.}1b5., by Mrs Jas. Robinson, who very kindly handed the lamb back for the Wounded Soldiers’ Fund. Next Saturday the shop will be under the charge of Mesdames Gibbs and Jennings, and “Men’s Day” will eventuate on Saturday, 17th inst., when the proceeds will be handed to the Ladies’ Guild. As the Ladies’ Guild is in need of funds, the men would be pleased to receive donations or anything of a saleable nature. The list of names of those ladies taking charge of the shop during the next six months is now being arranged, and the secretary would be pleased to receive the names of any ladies volunteering to help those now undertaking the work.
