BOWLING.
The weather was not altogether favourable for the opening of the Levin Bowling Club’s season yesterday. Despite this drawback, there was a representative gathering of bowlers present from Otaki, Shannon, Palmerston N., and Terrace End. Foxton was represented by one rink of bowlers, together with Mcsdames Perreau, Ball, Woods and Parkes from the croquet club. The following are the scores of the local rink: — Largo Ingram E. Walker Lancaster D. Whibley Mclntyre M.H. Waiker (s) 23 Porteous (s) 11. The local ladies won their croquet game. Rain prevented the last two heads being played. The visitors were hospitably entertained by the Levin Club.
