SHOCKING FATALITY AT TOKOMARU.
DEATH OF A BOY. A shocking accident occurred at Tokomaru yesterday afternoon, when the New Plymouth-Wellington express passed through. A lad of 11 years of age, named Reginald Edward Thomas Pekin, son of Mr and Mrs E. Pekin, residing at Tokomaru, was on the station platform and crossed from there over to the goods shed across the rails. On coming back ho evidently did not hear the approach of the train, and was struck by the engine. ■ Death was instantaneous.
