OBITUARY.

ANDREW JONSON, AGED 74 YEARS. Otic of Fox ton’s oldest residents in the person of Mr Andrew Jonson, passed away at his residence, Avenue Road, last evening, at the age of 74 years. Deceased had been failing for weeks past, and his passing was not unexpected. The death of Mr Andrew Jonson removes one of Manawatu’s old landmarks. We believe Mr Jonson opened and conducted the first shop in Palmerston. He also owned a trading vessel in the early days. He leaves a widow and two sons and two daughters to mourn their loss. The funeral will take place tomorrow afternoon.
