MOUTOA NOTES.

(Own Correspondent). An “Our Day” euchre party, under the auspices of the Moutoa Ladies’ Guild, in aid of the Red Cross funds, will be held in the Moutoa school on Friday, October 26th, at 8 p.m. The Ladies’ Guild at Moutoa was formed some time ago, with Mrs W. JSTewth as president, and Mrs J. Galland as hon< secretary, and since its inception the ladies have worked zealously for the Red Cross. The complete equipment for one bed on one of our hospital ships was the first effort. Since then the Guild has sent quite a number of cases away with comforts for our soldiers, and as this euchre party is a special effprt\for “Our Day,” and a most worthy one, and its need beyond all question, we hope the united efforts of the Guild will meet with the success it deserves. Mrs Greig, late of Foxton, has disposed of her cottage near the Moutoa Post Office to Whitaunui, Ltd. Several of our hoys are going into camp to-morrow, Mr E. Fenwick and Mr J. Woods are among th« number, Monday next, Labour Day, will be observed as a holiday at the various mills in this district. Latest advice from Ptc, Archie Yates, somewhere in France, and one time of Whitaunui, Moutoa, was very well, but very put out with all Moutoa folk, to whom he had sent postcards and letters, of which no acknowledgment had been received.
