ROUMANIAN CONFIDENCE.

Prince Constantin Braneovan, a member of the Roumanian Parliament, recently arrived in London from Jassy, oh'a short visit. In an interview he said: —“Even before 1914 the Roumanians had been hostile to Austria on account of her injustice to Roumauia iu the Balkan War. As soon as Britain drew the \ sword and her armies ,with those of France, had shown the futility of the German plan at the battle of the Marne, Roumaiha decided to do her share in the cause of liberty and justice and for the liulfihneut of her national aspirations. She, therefore, entered into negotiations almost at once with the allies, offering her assistance when required. It would lie difficult for an Englishman lo realise the enormous inllueuee Great Britain has had among the smaller nations whom she has championed. After Italy's entry into the war negotiations became still more definite, and Roumania declared war at Die moment considered by all parties concerned to be the most suitable. Allhough Roumauia has suffered, she has no regrets, for her action. Her army is strong again, ami perfectly trained, and it will have all that it needs when it has received Die assistance that Great Britain has so generously promised. Full confidence is felt by Roumania Dial the cud of Die war will see Dm Umraiimi of her peoples from Do '■ miriaii yoke, and Die expa .•■•! a. . lie commence — already ; ■ ior.ib:;.- —between her [gind allb’c . -m.vm ■> the tiultib.iugU, fof llelSP «•••'!' The year, has laid a very useful democratic influence in our country, as is evidenced by the passing of the Universal Suffrage and Small Holdings Bills in Parliament.
