PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH.
The quarterly meeting of the district committee of the Foxton Presbyterian Church was held at Rangiotu on Tuesday forenoon. Present: Rev, -I. H. Bredin (moderator), .Messrs Renton and Hornblow (Poxton), Wilton, Glendinning and Ingley (Rangiolu), Farmer-and J. Costall (Glen Orona). A report was received re improvements at the manse and protection of river bank. The treasurer submitted the quarterly statement of receipts and expenditure, which disclosed a small credit balance. It was resolved to take out an accident policy on behalf of the minister. A discussion took place in respect to the means of loeomotilou for the minister. It was pointed out that the motor cycle was not satisfactory. A committee consisting of Messrs Anion, Macaulay, Wilton, Hornblow and Renton was set up, with power to act, to arrange re the purchase of a. small two-seater car, which it was pointed out would lie more economical and satisfactory than.the motor bicycle. A vole of sympathy was passed (o’Mr T. Henderson in his recent bereavement, and the Moderator was instructed to convey same in writing. After the meeting, (he delegates were entertained at luncheon in the hall by Mesdames Wilson, Glondinning and Inglcy. "Father” Coslall, in a charactevisi.ie and happy speech, expressed the Hianks of the delegates to the ladies for their kind hospitality. The next meeting will be held at Foxton in Januarv.
