TERRITORIAL PARADES.
Complaint was made by Mr G. Willy in the House of Representatives (hat in farming districts men were called to attend Territorial parades, only to find that no officers were (here, and that they were thereby compelled to forego ploughing operations. Sir James Allen (Minister for Defence) said that if particulars were given he would have enquiries made. As (o Territorial parades, he wanted to impress upon members tbc necessity of keeping Hie Territorial scheme going. The basis of (raining given by the Territorial force was invaluable to the men who had afterwards to go into camp. lie expressed the opinion that instead of weekly drills it would be better to have yearly instructional concentration camps, lasting a week.
