TOWN CLERK’S REPORT.
The Town Clerk reported at last night's Council meeting as follows: The road staff has been engaged on the following works during the past month, viz:., metalling Saudou road, Kassel 1 and Wharf Streets, metalling footpath in Liddell Street, putting in culvert in Cook Street, grubbing lupins on Pound Kerserve, and general maintenance work. It is proposed to proceed with the metalling of Kussell and Johnston Streets, and general maintenance .work during the present month. Belmont .Metal—The fifteen trucks which were ordered by authority of the Council at its last meeting have come to hand, and from all appearances the metal is of first class quality,- The average cost per yard on trucks at Foxton station is 10s Gd, and the average weight of same 22 cwt. per yard.
