WRITING to the Dominion, Mr John DrtAvson takes from the records some figures Avhjch throw Palmers'ton North into undesirable pi'omiiencc. These figures relate to convictions for drunkenness during 1916, and are as folknv:—:
Mr DaAVson .concludes: The contrast speaks for itself. Indeed, Palmerston North alone, Avith a population of 16,135, has 408 convictions, or fiO more than all the eight No-License electorates Avitli a population of 101,246.
