PATRIOTIC SHOP.
Airs Renton, assisted by Misses Aloxham and Kyle, had charge of the Patriotic Shop on Salui’day last, and acknowledge gifts from the following;—Alesdamcs Shailer and Rivers (Oroua Downs), Harvey, John Robinson, Woodroofe, Patterson, F. Robinson, King, C. Robinson, S. Easton, M. 11. Walker, Follow, A. S. Easton, F. do Bidder, Misses Speirs, J. A. Ross, Messrs R. J. Thompson,.Walker and Furrie. The guessing competition for a sheep was very successful, ami five competitors guessed the correct weight, 58J lbs. The number of biscuits in (be tin was 1-11, and flic nearest guess was 165, by Airs A. Ross. Aliss Dulcie Hawke was (lie winner of (he cake, with 147, the correct number of seeds in the bottle being 452. Next Saturday Mrs Arthur Green, of Alarolm, will have charge of the shop. Some inlcrcsling competitions are being arranged, and a supply of Nelson apples will be on sale.
