FIRES.
Gisborne, Sept. 3. The Waerenga-a-hika Hofei and Colebrook’s store were destroyed by fire on Saturday night. About £SOO worth of stock from the store was saved. Auckland, Sept, 1. An outbreak of fire occurred iu about 200 tons oiHcauri gum dust at Lichtenstein and Avnoldson’s store yesterday. Considerable damage was done, but it was confined to the dust, which was valued at £2,000. The total stock in the store is valued at £25,000, and it,is insured in the South British office for £7,000 or £B,OOO,
