SUGGESTED EXCHANGE OF LAND. COUNCIL XOT FAVOUR ABLE. At a special meeting of the Borough Council held last night, the questioii of the ‘ nggesled exchange of portion of (he Target Reserve for lhe Bound Bush was further discussed. and it was unanimously decided no the motion of the Mayor, seconded by (T Henderson, “That we sincerely .regret we cannot support, (he proposed exchange of land as-sug-gested hy the Foxton Harbour Board in view of (lie prospective value of (In’ portion of the Target Reserve involved in the proposal, and also (he small amount of revenue received hy the Council from reser>’i‘-." The resolution passed at the public meeting held on the 17th ultimo, a< follows: “That this public meeting respectfully suggests to the Borough Council that it approach the Fox!on Harbour Board and ask if it will approach the Government in conjunction with the Council with the object of converting the Round Bush into a. public scenic reserve, and give its equivalent in value to the Board by setting aside a further endowment, or failing that, its cash value,” was adopted.
