BETTING CHARGES.
Wanganui, July 25. At the Magistrate’s Court to-day, 'William Ryan, Hubert Ryan and David Ross M’ere charged with loitering for the purposes of betting. The prosecution relied on the evidence- of tM’o plain clothes constables, who watched the movements of the three defendants at the time of the Wanganui races in May last. The defence was a denial of the charges. The magistrate reserved his decision. Similar charges against a number of other men -were adjourned.
