MILITARY APPEAL BOARD.

DISTRICT CASES. The following district appeals were dealt with at the sitting of the First Wellington Military Appeal Board, which commenced at Palmerston North yesterday; — A FOXTON LABOURER. Horace Henry Brown, labourer, T’oxton (Mr Ongley), appealed on the grounds of undue hardship. Appellant stated he was 30-years old, and single, and was the only sou left of six, the others dying several years ago. He was the sole support of Ids mother, who was 75 years of ago, and in bad health. He had a financial obligation on a house property.at Foxton. To Captain Walker: His mother could possibly reside with one of appellant's married sisters. To the chairman: He would require two months to put, his affairs in order and let his place. Leave till September 18th was granted. MAKOTIKT FARMER'S APPEAL. William Harper, fanner, Marotiri (.Mr .Moore), appealed on the grounds of public interest and undue hardship. Appellant gave evidence that he was single, and 3(1 years of age. He had a leasehold of 74 acres, with two years to run. He was machine milking 47 cows. He had seven brothers, live being on active service. Another brother was married and working for appellant, and Hie remaining brother was a cripple. Appellant, asked lor sufficient lime to get his brother into Hie working of the milking machines and the farm. Appellant would then he prepared to go to camp. To Hie Chairman: ft would he another month before the cows came in. it would lake two or three ar til Its for his brother to learn the machines. Leave was granted till September 18th. APPEALS DISMISSED. The appeals of Percy Reginald Emery, hotel’ porter, Foxlon, and Ji-i n Conlan, farmer, Ornua Downs, were, dismissed, Hie appellants being classed as C2,iuen. TIME WANTED. Sydney Walter Hudson, labourer, Foxton, asked for extension of lime. —Leave granted until August 21st. The appeal of Arthur’Dawson, (laxenlter, Moutoa, was dismissed, as (here was no appearance of appellant.
