PATRIOTIC SHOP.

The .Shop on Saturday last was under the charge of Mesdames John Robinson and Harvey, who had a very successful day, the takings being well above the average. The surprise packets sold well, and contained twelve tickets for the Town Hall pictures, donated by Mr Knewslub. The competition for the cake was won by Mrs Jennings, Mrs Freeman, Miss C. Lumsden, and Ml’ W. Sexton, the amount of money inside being one farthing. The weight of a piece of coal was 381 lbs., and was won by Mrs Gibbs, who guessed 38} lbs. The camisole was won by Mrs Hobson, with No. 45 . Gifts are acknowledged from: Mesdames IV. E. Barber, Preston, Harvey, Hood, Wyeth, John Robinson, Oxley, Fiizhcrhert (Feilding), Harley (Wellington), Wall (Paremala), Healey, Speirs, Barr, R. Gray, Teviotdale, John Ross, Chas. Robinson, King, A. S. Easton, Chas. Symons, Jas, Robinson, Walker, F. de Bidder, Misses Collins, Pedvis (Wellington), Woodroofe, N. Robinson, Messrs Xye, Dr. Wall, S. B. Collins, Knewstub, Large, Geo. Coley, Furrie, T. Powell, R. J. Thompson, Bowe, Henderson, and 0. Robinson. Next Saturday Mesdames Alex. Ross and F. Procter will have charge of the shop.
