WHIRLWIND AT HUNTLY.

A most destructive tornado or wliirlwind occurred at bluntly yesterday morning, the like of which was never experienced in the district before. When first noticed it struck a milking shod belonging to AY. G. Raidall, a half-caste, who resides opposite tlie kimihia Cemetery, on the west side of (he river, about two miles below Huntly. Here it picked up a big wagon, smashing it to match-wood. I hen it came across the river, picking up water en route and sending it GO feet high. It next struck the cemetery, smashing lifloen headstones into atoms; (lien crossed the road, striking Die house of James Dooley. The oeeiipanls, Air and Mrs Dooley, a nephew and a., niece (Aliss Alary Uallerson), heard the tornado appro: telling, and went outside, lint, not anticipating danger, returned. The tornado, however, shortly afterwards struck Die dwelling with great force, tearing i( from the blocks and carrying il between 100 and 200 yards, reducing it to matchwood. An eye-witness slates that as the tornado was crossing Die river sheets of iron and limits of trees could lie seen Hying through the air. The track of the tornado was abont 20 yards wide. Tin* sight- of Die devastation to those outside therange was very impressive and aweinspiring. .
