PATRIOTIC SHOP.
The Patriotic Shop was open on Saturday last, under the charge of Mesdames Me Murray and Keaton, and very good business was done. (lifts are acknowledged from Mesdames C. Symons, .Patterson, John Robinson, F. Robinson, Perreau, John Ross, A, King, A, S. Easton, Chrystall, Alex. Ross, D. Purcell, Rough, de Ridder, McMurray, Renton, Jus. Robinson, Miss J, A. Ross, Messrs F. L. Martin, Chrystall, W. E. Barber, C. Spiers, Walker and Furrie, W. Xye, Hawke, State School (per Mr P. U. Jackson), Estate Henry Barber, . The guessing weight of sheep presented by the Estate Henry Barber was won by Mrs Hawke and Messrs Woodroofe, Aldridge and H. Thynue, who each guessed (i-flbs., the correct weight being (i-f.{ lbs. Air Woodroofe's portion was given hack, and auctioned for Ids. The name of a (lower for the cake( anemone) was not guessed by any competitor, and was auctioned. Air Ivellow won the silk blouse with Xo. 33. Xexl Saturday Mesdames Arthur (ireen and Murdoch, of Aloutoa, will have charge of the shop. The monthly meeting of the Foxtail Patriotic Society will be held on Thursday evening, at 7.30 o’clock, al the Council Chamber, when the matters in connection with the carnival will he finally discussed, and the balance-sheet presented. All tlm>e who assisted at the Carnival are cordially invited to be present. A meeting of the Carnival Executive will he held at 7 o’clock prior to the monthly meeting.
