FOXTON BOROUGH COUNCIL.
COMMITTEE REPORTS. The* following Commit toe* reports were adopted at last night’s meeting : PCP.LTC WORKS. Meeting held on May 21st. Present; The* Mayor and Crs Coley, Henderson and Thompson, and the road foreman (Mr Huntley), hy request. After the Committee had viewed the various streets of the horongh, in a motor ear kindly lent hy Cr Coley, the following resolutions were passed: —That the fence round the drain at the earner of Baker Street and Avenue Road he repaired. That 1,000 yards of metal he purchased this year, and that the Town Clerk he authorised to order 500 yards from Mr T. Ruick, Longhurn. That the Town Clerk communicate with the District Engineer N.Z. Railways, resupplying 100 yards Terrace End metal.
GAS WORKS
Meeting held May 21sl. Present: The Mayor and Crs Coley, MeColl and Stevenson. It was resolved that (he specilicalions for the erection of 1 lie gas holder, as drawn up by (he (las Manager and the Town Clerk, be approved, and that tenders be invited for the Avork. It was also decided to recommend that tenders be called for eoal-earting for the ensuing year. FINANCE.
Meeting held June 11th. Present: The Mayor and Crs McMurray, Stevenson and AValkcr. It was resolved that accounts submitted, amounting to £550 5s 4d, be certified to and recommended for paymetil. Also that the Committee recommends that the rates Cor the ensiling year he as per list submitted l»v the Treasurer.
