'Everything' in connection with the proposed acquisition of the Foxton wharf by the Fox ton Harbour Board is now in order, and elsewhere in this issue public notice is given that a Bill, having the short title of .‘•The Foxton Harbour Board Act, 1008," Amendment Act, 1917,” will bo introduced in Parliament at (he session opening next month, the objects which the Bill is intended to effect being:— To constitute the Foxton Harbour District; to appoint an additional member of the Board representing the Kairango County; to enable His Majesty to transfer, and the Board to acquire, certain lands and assets being the Railway Wharf and other parts of the foreshore at Foxton; to enable the Board to acquire a dredge; to effect general harbour works for (lie improvement mid management of the Foxton Harbour; to borrow moneys not exceeding £1(1,900; to provide for. the raising of such loan, the payment of interest thereon, and redemption threof, and to enable the Board to levy a differential rate within the Foxton Harbour District as therein set out, and fixing the maximum of such rate. A copy of (lie Bill and a plan arc open for inspection at the ot'tiec of (he Board at Foxton, and the Courthouse, Palmerston North.
