The London demand is very strong, but full advantage cannot he taken of the position by reason of the shipping shortage.- Prices f.o.b. are nominally as follow: (food fair grade, £53 per ton; high point fair, £52; low point fair, £SO 10s. Tow: No. 1, £ll per ton; No. 2, £lO per ton; No. 3, £7. Australia is still lacking interest in this market, obtaining supplies of a certain grade of. Manila, which meets x'equireiuents, and is at about £lO per ton less than New Zealand fibre, also has the advantage of three regular lines trading from the Philippines and Australia. America is buying from the Dominion, but at below London values. The high prices quoted in London at the moment arc interpreted to represent the value put upon the fibre by the freight rather titan on the material i 1 s elf. —Evening Post.
