STATE COAL MINES.
THE KALE PROPOSAL. Christchurch, Yesterday. The Hon. G. W. Russell and Mr Ell, M.P., state that the proposal to sell the Slate Coal Mines would not be sanctioned by them. Mr Russell said he did not think there was tin' slightest chance of the 1 proposal receiving the serious consideration of the Government. Mr Ell said he and many other members would oppose it at every turn.
