A BELATED MESSAGE.
PICKED UP ON THE BEACH. The following message was picked up in a bottle on the south side of the Manawatu Heads by Mr Hart this week: “Ka wahara tonu loku ngakuu ki a koe. 18/2/15. Thrown overboard from transport No. 17, s.s. Maunganui, ((») six days out from Wellington. N.Z. Hoping this message finds you all well, as it leaves us. Please write. —Pte. W. Diamond, Waipapakuri, Far North, N.Z. Please write to Driver T. Everest, Howitzer Battery. Please write to Pte. J. W. Johnston, C Coy., Canterbury Infantry. > “We are glad to say we are going away, We are going away to light. Yes, we are going away to Egypt To receive some Turkish delight!’’ N.Z. Kia Ora.
