FORGERY BY A BOY
WITH AN ALIAS. Hamilton, April 2(i. In the Supreme Court, before Mr Justice Husking, a boy aged 15, who had adopted an alias, was brought up for sentence, on a charge of forging and uttering at Kotorua. Prisoner stole a blank cheque from bis employer, tilled it in, and gave it to another boy to cash. The attempt was unsuccessful, and the boy was arrested. The Judge said (his was the youngest prisoner with an alias who had yet come before him. He would give him one more chance on the understanding that he returned 1 home, he having run away. Prisoner would be convicted, and ordered to come up for sentence when called upon. He was placed under the supervision of the probation officer for eighteen months.
