At Kaikoura, Amy Alice Robinson (25) w:is hooting some besswax and (urpentine, when (lie mixture caught alight, llm lionms igniting her clothing. :nul she was badly burned. After she Imd extinguished the llames by rolling herself in n bhmkel she went some distance to a neighbour I'or assislanee. The .-ai'l'erer was eonveyed to tin* hospital, where she died shortly afterwards.
Deceased was the daughter of Mr A. Royd, a well-known resident of Kaikoura.
