RIFLE SHOOTING.
On Stilunlay the local Defence Hi lie Club commenced a competition tor a trophy presented by Mr Beveridge, and a second prize valued ;ti IDs (id. The comfit ions of the competition provide that (lie trophy shall become the property of the first competitor to score nine points, the winner of each shoot, gaining three points, second two points, and, third one point. The following are the scores in Saturday’s shoot, the handicap of each competitor appearing in parenthesis. The standard score was 33 at 500 yards, and 32 at GOO yards.— 500 (>OO Yds. Yds. Tl. C.
