GARDEN PARTY AT MOUTOA.

A SUCCESSFUL EFFORT,

The Moutoa la ides were favoured with perfect weather for the garden party in aid of the Red Cross Fund, and held in Mr M. Newth’s property yesterday afternoon. Stalls were erected for the sale of produce, sweets, soft drinks, and miscellaneous articles; and a large lent where afternoon tea was dispensed. There was also a shooting gallery, swings, pillow fighting boom, etc. The residents of Moutoa foregathered, and a large number of people 1 were present from Foxlon. There was no charge for admission to the grounds. Some interesting driving competitions were witnessed, also a motor driving potato spearing event. The ladies ilitted hither and thither, selling guesses for various prizes. The >tj l ll holders did good business, and splendid value accompanied investments. Every one appeared to thoroughly enjoy themselves. The affair was eminently successful from every point of view, and the promoters are to be congratulated upon the effort.

Various artieles were sold by Dutch auction, Mir Wilkins making a first -class auctioneer. The thanks of the committee are due to all those who helped to make the affair such a success, 'taking’s lor afternoon amounted to £BO.
