POLLUTING PALMERSTON’S WATER SUPPLY.

BATHING IN THE DAM. A bomb shell was dropped among the Palmerston Borough Councillors at Tuesday’s meeting when Cr. O’Keilly said he had received information on good authority that a party of picnicers who visited the intake on Sunday had bathed in the dam. “Men who bathe in the borough water supply ought to be gaoled,” said Cr. Crabb. “The women bathed, too,” added Cr. O’Keilly. The Mayor wanted to know where the waterworks inspector was on Sunday. It was his duty to keep a look-out. On the Mayor’s motion in was decided to ask the inspector for a report on the matter.
