CRAMP IN BATHING.
This is the most dangerous thing to happen to a bather. It is due to the sudden stoppage of the heart. Heart weakness is a defect that does not always show itself, and is often not found out until cramp seizes one in the -water. It is well to notice the colour of the skin, therefore, Avhen in the water, both in yourself and in others. If it remains white or pinky white, you are all right, but if you see it becoming a deep red come out of the water at once, and be on the safe side. The condition of the skin, too, helps you to decide if sea bathing suits you. If it is ordinary, and you feel warm after your dip, all is well, bathing will do you good. If, on the contrary, you feel chilly and your flesh becomes goose-fleshy, it were wise to give it up.
