SHOOTING SENSATION.

A girl named Ituby McKnight, of Caversham, employed as a typiste, at the Milburn Lime and Cement Company's office, was shot in the chest on Friday night, and a young man named Arthur William Ledgerwood has been arrested -on a chargg of attempted murder. The full facts arc not yet available, but it is stated that Miss McKnighl, at the invitation of Ledgerwood, went to tea at Ledgerwood's parents’ residence, at (he corner of Hanover and Leith streets, and during the evening she was shot in the chest. Medical examination showed that the bullet had penetrated the girl’s body, and is now lodged in her back. The wound is serious, but fatal results are not expected. The injured girl has not yet been removed from Ledgerwood's place.
