Two rinks from the local Club left Foxton yesterday in search of trophies, hut were unsuccessful, Riinmer’s rink visited Eeilding to play the holders of the Dixon Cup, and were very badly beaten, the final scores being: Eeilding 3!), Foxton 13. The home team started off with a two on the first head, and followed up with a four, a three and a two on the throe succeeding heads; 11 —0. Foxton then took a turn at the scoring, putting on a two, a single, another two, and a live, and the board then read 11 —10 in favour of Eeilding, with eight heads played. At this stage the afternoon tea adjournment was taken, and on resuming play the visitors went to pieces, the holders scoring on nine heads in succession, their scores including a six, a five and two fours. Foxton’s only further scores during (he game were a single on the eighteenth head and a brace on the nineteenth. F. AViiihley took a rink to Shannon in search of the Gold Stars, hut was defeated by four points. At the afternoon tea adjournment with seven heads played, the score was four all, and on resuming the visitors put on two threes. Shannon, however, slowly overhauled their opponents, and got in front on the sixteenth head, eventually winning by 21 points to 17. The following are the teams: — Feilding. Foxton. Barry D.
