MOTORMAN SLEEPS AT HIS POST.
CAFSF OF TRAMWAY ACCIDENT.

At the enquiry by the Tramway Company iu regard to the accident on the Khyher Pass road on February 21st, when a car got out of control, left the rails, and made a breach between the hotel and the bank at Newmarket, the motorman In charge of the car stated that he was tired, having bej-n awake from I a.in., when a cyclonic storm damaged his house and necessitated the shifting of his furniture. He went on duty for the Tramway Company between 3 and 4 p.m., and on the trip down Khyber Pass road at midnight he dozed . He remembered nothing that occurred until he was thrown from his seat when the car jumped the points. The Tramway Company management is satislied that the enquiry disclosed the true cause of the accident, and slates that the motorman is one of its most trusted employees.
