AUTUMN SHOW.

THURSDAY AND FRIDAY NEXT

The local Ilorlicultural Society's Autumn Slioav av i 11 be held in the Coronation Toavh Hall on Thursday and Friday next. Entries close with the secretary at !• o'clock' to-night (late netries up I ill !) p.m. to-mor-roAv). The secretary informs us that already a number of entries have eome in. Local growers are urged to send along entries in order to make the exhibition as successful as previous ones. The Society is dealing liberally in jiriz.es and trophies in all classes, which should he a special inducement for growers to exhibit. Special trophies are ojien for competition in the following classes: Cut blooms, dahlias, vegetables, cookery, home industries, and decorative. The show Avill be open to Ibe jmblic :it 2.30 p.m. on Thursday, and again in the evening and following afternoon and evening. The admission in the afternoon of each day will be (id, and Is in the evenings. Children making entries are admitted on afternoon of first day free.

The tea-rooms aaIII be in charge of Mrs E. Procter. Gifts of refreshments in tills connection are solicited from the public, and may he left with the secretary.

Miss Woodroofe will again snjiervise the sweets stall, which is a guarantee of its success.

A jirogramme of vocal and other comjictitions will be submitted each evening, and the local orchestra and Borough Band Avill also contribute items.

Among the attractions avill be a pillow tight for children.

Mr E. Penn, of (Haki, Avill judge the pot plants and cut blooms this year. The other judges, are Mr Shailer (fruit, vegetables and farm jiroduee), .Mr E. (), Smith (cookery, dairy produce and home industries), Mrs Prouse (decor;)live). The entries for Hie children's classes are tilling avcll.
