TOWN CLERK’S REPORT.

The Town ('lrek reported at last night’s Council 1110011110' as follows: The road staff has boon engaged on the following works during the past month, viz., mowing grass in cemetery, fixing culvert in Jenks Street, clearing right-of-way in Clyde street, filling nils in streets, cleaning up yard and Awahou drain to receive drain pipes, and general maintenance work. The work of laying the 3ft. Gin. concrete pipes through the borough yard is now being proceeded with ,and will be completed in the course of a few days. The drain will then be piped to within a few yards of the Alain Street culvert, and I would recommend that the balance be piped at an early date. I would draw the Council’s attention to the fact that the >and eat ting in Johnston Street near the Hopeworks is breaking away. and 1 would recommend that it receive attention. Met work was done on the Alain Street during the past month, owing to the continual strong wind preventing the spreading of sand. Should the weather be favourable, a start will be made on this work as soon us the piping of the Awahou drain is completed.
