OROUA DOWNS SPORTS GATHERING.
A sports gathering is to be held in Mr Hammond's grounds, Orou.i Downs, on Wednesday, 28th hist., in aid of the Patriotic Funds. Mr M. Hammond has been elected president, and Mr Cates secretary of (he committee to carry out (he affair. The executive committee consists of the above-mentioned and Messrs Caithness, Olliver, .!. West, W. Scott, Buikos and Biggins. The programme committee will meet tonight. The previous sports meeting held in the locality was an uni'inalitied success, and it is anticipated that, (his year’s gathering will eclipse it both from a social and linanciul point of view.
