THE HEMP MARKET.
HIGH COMMISSIONER'S REPORT. The High Commissioner wired on Tuesday afternoon as follows; — The hemp market is very rpiiet. Nothing doing. It is reported that stock is accumulating in Manila, and that the stock is heavy, therefore there is less demand for forward shipment. The market is considered too speculative, and lower prices are anticipated if shipments will be forwarded. The output, for the week was 13,000 bales. Quotations nominal: Janu-ary-March shipment good fair New Zealand £SO, fair £57 .government graded fair Manila £OO, coarse £SB.
