THE FOXTOX MEETING?.
The Foxton Racing Club's annual race meeting was concluded on Tuesday, and was undoubtedly the most successful yet held by the Club. As on the first day, the weather conditions were ideal, and there was again a large attendance. The racing throughout the two clays was interesting, some very fine finishes being witnessed. On Tuesday there was another dead heat for first place, and noses and heads separated placed horses in other events. The fields were large, and (he Inmclicapper, Mr J. E. Henrys, is to tie congratulated on (lie success of his adjustments, Mr Currie, stipendiary steward, was in attendance both clay.-, lint Ids duties were verv light. On the first day R. 1. McDonald, rider of Sir Wallace m the Awalion Weller, was cautioned for crossing over 100 soon, and L. Xodder, rider of Zetes in the Herrington Welter, was fined £o for alleged interference during the race. On the second day nothing eventuated that necessitated the calling together of the judicial committee. Investment on the iofalisator was brisk, the total handled during the second day being £.15,002, as against £.15,047 on the second day last year, an increase of £ls. The total for the meeting was £33,120, cornpai'ed with £30,023 last year, tin increase of £2,-107. The management of the meeting throughout was excellent, and reflected credit on Ihe secretary, his assistants, and the stewards and committee. The following are the second day's results :
HACK HCRDLE HANDICAP, of 120 sovs. One and a-half miles.

Powder Fox ran off at the lirst, fence and look no further part in the race. Passing the stand Sir Fisher was leading, followed by Arlington and Confusion. A little later Aldington took charge, and there was no other change in the order, but the held spread out. The winner iiuished a length ahead of Sir Fisher, and had something to spans Confusion was four lengths further back third. Time, 2 min. 51 \ secs. Winner trained by owner.

Coropetl and Lady General Hew out from the barrier, followed by Perrier and Pall Alall. The order was maintained right into the straight, where Pall Mall put in her rim, but could not overhaul the leaders. It was a, great tinish, and the judge was unable to separate the first two horses, Pall Alall, close up, was third. Perrier finished fourth, and Kylena tilth. Time, 1 min. 9 sec.

PRESIDENT'S HANDICAP, of 200 sovs. One mile and a distance.

Wapping and Despatch Carrier declined their engagements in this race, leaving a held of eight. The start was a good one, and passing •the stand Ihe horses were well bunched, Bradamante and Dribble being the leaders, with Ladily, Settler and Want in that order. At the back, .Master Moutoa moved up and Want temporarily fell back. At the bend coming into the straight Settler put in a challenge, and a splendid finish resulted, Settler getting the verdict by half a head, with Master Moutoa. half a length away. Ladify was fourth, and “Want fifth. Time, 1 min. 57 sec. Winner trained by K. Gooseman.

berg came on the scene and took the lead, running on nicely and winning by half tt length from Dusky Eve, who heat General Madero by a similar distance. Syntax was close up fourth; Kurapai fifth, and Firing Line sixth. Sir Donald was a very bad last. Winner trained by C. Jackson. WHARAXGI HANDICAP, of 150 sovs. Six furlongs.

Need got all the worst of the start, being several lengths behind the other three. Alah/.oltov was out in front, followed by Coropetl. Coming round the bend into the straight Need came with a rattle, and passed the post half a length in front of llnshabye. Time, 1 min. 15 see. Winner trained bv owner.

At the bend into the straight Foeman came through from the bunch into third place. Starengo and Lady General fought out a good tinish up the straight, the former passing the [lost half a length ahead. Foeman was two lengths further hack, then came Sir Wallace and Pall Mall. Charlie Price was the most successful jockey, piloting four winners {including a deadbeat) and 2 seconds. W. Price rode 3 winners (including a dead heat) and 1 second, L. Traill 2 wins, C. Carmont 2 wins (including a dead heat), T. Metcalfe 2 wins (including a dead heat), G. McLean 1 win and 2 seconds, B. T. McDonald, A. Louder, B. E. Brown and J. O’Shea 1 win each, A. Lawrence and 11. Mauson 2 seconds each, and W. J. Bowden, W. Young, J. Paul, 11. Hatch and J. Brady rode a second each.
Alrs L. B. Freeman, as in the past four years, again offered a goldmounted whip to the rider of the winner of the Cup. Some little difficulty was experienced as to the
disposal of the prize, owing to there being a dead heat in the race. Eventually it was decided that the jockeys interested, C. Garment and T. Metcalfe, should toss for it, and the latter was the lucky winner.
