TOWN CLERK’S REPORT.
The Town Clerk's report ns follows was read and adopted at last night's Council meeting,: — “I heg to report that the road staff has been engaged on the following works during the past month, viz., tarring Main Street, metalling Mouloa and Avenue roads and Russell Street, grubbing lupins and removing trees on pound reserve, cleaning footpaths and channels in Ravensworth Place, Liddell, AYhyte, Cook, Union, Wharf, Hall and Clyde Streets and Avenue Road. It is proposed to proceed with the tarring of the Main Street and general ('leaning ot the town during the present month. I would recommend that the grass in the cemetery be cut and removed.
“Target Reserve. —The lease of This reserve was submitted lor auction on the 20th ultimo, and failed to reach the reserve price. -Mr A. King, the present, lessee, who was Ihe highest bidder, then offered the required amount, which was accepted.”
