“OUR PICTURES.” ‘•IN THE BLOOD." The programme to he siihmilied at the Town Hall Ibis evening should prove a very allraelive one, containing as it does several strong tea lures. The foremost item is a remarkably powerful drama, “In the Blood," portraying the fateful iiillnenee of heredity on the lives of two men and two women. How the younger man at length overcomes his weakness hy the aid and Jove of a devoted wife, and the vicissitudes through whie.ii this brave little woman jiasses in her efl'orl to combat, the evil inlhienee handed down to her husband, forms a story of many sides and remarkable, interest. The oilier items contain a drama of almost as gripping power, “Ashes of Happiness.” This is the story of the downfall of a well-to-do physician under the wiles of a handsome woman, a patient of lus. The doctor's wife obtains a divorce in due course, and the custody of the two children, a. hoy and a girl, is divided between the two parlies, one taking the girl and (lie oilier the boy. As time goes on the doctor’s prosperity forsakes him, and he becomes a wanderer in the country. The circumstances of (lie lives of the family subsequently bring about a happy reunion, the details of which make a strong and interesting story.
Menlion must lie made of the I'lmrlie Chaplin comedy, which will make you laugh for a week! Charlie will appear in a favourite comedy entitled ‘‘'The Star Boarder,” and from his past reputation the inference may lie drawn that this picture will prove as laughable and entertaining as one could very will wish.
MONDAY AND TUESDAY. “DAVID HAD UAL” At (he Town Hail on Monday and Tuesday evenings (here will be submitted a story which is widely known and a. favourite of many, entitled “David Ha rum,” by Edward Noyes Westeott, a production by (be Damons -Players Company. The character of David liaruni is played by (he American cinema actor William H. Cram 1 , who makes bis motion picture debut iu this production. Air Crane’s excellent portrayal of the genial and quaint old hero of ibis masterpiece is one of the best examples of character work’ ever given. He is supported in the play by the well-known photoplay stars, Harold Lockwood and .May Allison. Tim main feat ares of ihe story are strictly in accordance with the author’s work’, and the scenes and photography are. brilliant: iu effect and accomplishment. Other pictures on Ihe programme include; “The Battle field of Xeuve ('hapelic” (a splendid war special), “Diver Life near Maris" (a scene ol Interest), “The Bat lie Gazelle" (topical), and “Canoeing in a Snowstorm” (comedy).
