HORTICULTURAL SOCIETY AAV ARDS. The local Horticultural Society awavd prizes for the best kept garden plots at tiie local schools. The plots were inspected by Mr Shailer, judge, yesterday, and the following are ihe awards; —Girls: Hilda Robinson 1, Thurza Walker 2, Fiona Spring 3 (all St. VI. pupils), Hilda Thompson (St. A 7.) 4, Ella Patterson (St. AH.) 5. Boys: AVillie Signal (St, V.) 1, Frank Davis (St. AH.) 2, Bert Cummerlield and E. Cunningham (St. IV.) 3, Edward Lubline (St. A 7.) 4, AV. King and Edward Thompson (St. IV.) 5.
