A GERMAN ESTIMATE. DAILY AVERAGE ON SOMME. An interesting estimate of the amoimt of ammunition used by Ibo Fourth German Army Corps in tbn battle of Ihe Somme during the month of July is given by General Sixl von Arm’ll, the commander of the corps. The average daily expenditure of amim.milion per gun during’ the whole period of the lighting was set down by him as follows in a document which recently fell into the hands of the allies: — Rounds. The highest single day's expenditure per gun was: — Field guns 322 Light lieid howitzers .... 47!)
