SHORT-WEIGHT BREAD.

PROSECUTION BY HEALTH DEPARTMENT. Tim Public Health Department, has lately been very active in regard (o prosecal ions for sale of light-weight bread end butter, and a number of bakers in the Wellington health district have been brought before the Conrl for selling short-weight bread. One A. L. Young (Maimin'), was lined £lO and 7s costs, .Harold L. Goodman (Motneka) £3 and 11s costs, and H. G. Blackman (Okaiawa) £2 and 7s costs. A number of other prosecutions are pending in various parts of the district in regard to both broad and butter. The charges are lit id under the Sale of Food and Drugs Act, 1907.
