THE TARGET RESERVE.
LEASE TO BE SEVEN YEARS
COUNCIL AO 11 BBS TO SBLL PORTION TO RACING CLUB. Last week the members of the Reserves Committee of the Borough Council conferred with the stewards of the Racing Club in reference to the Target Reserve, a small poll ion of which the Chib is desirous of Inlying. The Reserves Committee recommended the Council to sell the portion in question, provided a satisfactory price could he arranged. At last night's meeting, a letter was read from the see ret ary of the Racing Club asking the Council to put-a price on the strip required, the area of which would tie somewhere between three and six acres. The Council was unanimous in agreeing to sell the land, but mi the
question of price there was some discussion. Hie Target h’eserve, as indU caled in their letter of November Kith, at .€45 per acre. The JVlayoi; and Crs Coley, Thompson, Freeman, Simmons and Bryant voted for the motion, and Crs Wldbley, McCoil and Stevenson voted against it. The Council also decided that the term of the lease of the reserve should he seven years. The lease will be sold by auction on Monday next.
