VOLUNTARY ENLISTMENT CEASES ON SATURDAY.
Palmerston N., Yesterday. The AYellington District Headquarters announces that voluntary enlistment for the 23rd and 24th reinforcements ceases at midnight on Saturday. The shortages will then be assessed for the different groups, and a ballot to till the same will be taken next week. Voluntary enlistment for the 25ths and 26ths will continue until 9th December, but men so enlisting, if drawn in tho ballot, will be liable to serve in the 23rds and 24ths.
