TIIL British Ministry of .Munitions is setting an excellent example to other (tovernmenl Departments and offices in the energetic manner in which it is “combing out" every possible man eligible for military service. According to the (lovernment. return, -I(in single men and 005 married men of military age were ems ployed at (he Ministry on April Ist. Since November of last year no man of military age who has not been totally rejected for all forms of military service has been engaged except for work which cannot be performed by a woman or a man over military age. in .June, following upon the publication of the (tovernmenl return, every man of military age was called upon by the .Minister to undergo a fresh, and thorough examination by an army medical board. Nearly half (he tola! number of eligible men have been found to be either totally unlit, or til only for sedentary or other work which is not regarded by the War Office as sufficiently important to warrant their being called n|) from their work at the Ministry. The men (Massed as lit for general servicel or for garrison duty, are now being dealt with by a Committee of Investigation appointed by the Minister to advise him as to the possibilities of future “combing out.”
