HONOURS FOR MR. MASSEY.
A cable was received on Sunday from Air Massey by Hie Secretary of the Cabinet, wdiieh begins;— "The following resolution lias been passed by the Court of Common Council of Hie City of London: ‘That the Freedom of this city in a suitable gold box he presented to Hie Right Honourable William Ferguson Massey, I‘rime .Minister of New Zealand, as testimony and appreciation of (his Court to the distinguished service he has rendered the Empire. Also in gra.lei.ul acknowledgment of the loyal support. the Dominion has rendered Hie Mother Country and the splendid share Hie New Zealand force has borne with the British Army in the great struggle for freedom and civilisation in which this country is engaged. —(Signed) Wakefield, Ford Mayor.”
The message adds that Hie Cambridge University is conferring the Doetor.ship of Laws on Mr Massey, also Hum he is being sworn in as a Privy Councillor on Tuesday, the King presiding.
